On 3rd March, 2010, the launching workshop of “Working Group on Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT)” was held by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in cooperation with European Union (EU) and German Technical Cooperation (GTZ).
The workshop was organized in Bao Son Paradise, Hanoi with the presence of more than 70 participants from Delegation of European Union to Vietnam, Norway Embassy, Finland Embassy, Related Departments of MARD; Stakeholders from Enterprises; representatives of GO and NGOs; Vietnam FLEGT Working Group members; and Representatives of mass media with the following objectives:a) To announce the FLEGT VWG establishment to all stakeholders and mediathrough press release.b) To build position of FLEGT VWG within local and regional FLEGT society.c) To initiate the network and mechanism for cooperation in FLEGT activities inVietnam and in the region.d) To share FLEGT VWG’s work plan for 2010 with all stakeholders to get inputs.
