The lack of access to up-to-date market and sector information and the forming of direct relationships with clients still pose a challenge for many Vietnamese wood processing companies. There is just limited knowledge on national and especially international market conditions.

In order to provide support in this field following services in coordination with the associations HAWA and Vifores are offered:

-Coordination of up-to-date data on the global forest industry
(including statistics, fairs, etc.)
-Coordination of up-to-date data on imports and exports
(trends, outlooks, etc.)
-Evaluation and structuring of need assessments
(organizational restructuring, etc.)
-Editing of newsletters and specific magazines for the industry
(marketing communication materials, brochures, etc.)
-Translation of selected market information

Further more the component assists the industry in developing and strengthening its sales channel and marketing capacities in order to meet the basic demands of the domestic and global wood consumption. The support covers the knowledge transfer in areas such as business development practices, management and marketing strategies, strategic positioning, certification and branding.

Jointly with the Vietnam Forest Trade Network (VFTN) the project promotes the processing, trade and marketing of forest products from sustainably managed sources.
