On April 11th 2008, the leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development (MARD) had a meeting with Vietnam Timber & Forest Products Association (Vifores) and other related agencies concerning the organization of the Vietnam 2008 Timber & Forest Products Trade Fair. This fair is supposed to take place from November 14th to November 17th, 2008 at Vietnam Agriculture Exhibition Centre at 02 Hoang Quoc Viet Street, Cau Giay District, Hanoi.

EUWID reported on the EU’s new regulation (194/2008), which tightens sanctions on imported Myanmar timber imported directly or via other countries.

Nowadays, thanks to the increasing demand of wood material from export and domestic enterprises, the import turnover of Vietnam wood material is rapidly increasing.
