In the first 7 months 2007, Vietnam recorded an value of 499,8 mullion USD of wood products to American market, increasing 25,5% compared to that of last year. According to forecast, America continues to be the mainstay market for Vietnam’s wood products export in 2007.

Government’s decision solving problems in exporting fine arts and high quality furniture

To further facilitate export activities of enterprises in wood working industry, the Vietnamese government has taken into consideration the problems faced by enterprises in exportng fine arts and high quality furniture according to the proposal of Vifores (document 215/CV-HHG ngày 10 August 2007) with concrete activities as following:

Domestic situation
Three regulated forest types have been checked and schemed by Provincial People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue aiming to identify scale, reasonable area, correct target, forest type according to forestry classification criteria: protective forest, forest of special purpose, production forest...to ensure that there are enough area for functions of these forests are brought into play.

 In May 2007 the Component “Processing, Trade and Marketing of Forest Products” of the Vietnamese-German Forestry Programme organize a study tour to Germany.
