According to the statistics given by The General Department of Customs, the import turnover of wood material in April 2008 from American market reached 9.5 million USD, which increases by 10.77% in comparison with the previous month and by 36% in comparison with the same period in 2007.

To contribute to the endeavor of increasing added value for each product and to avoid anti-dumping lawsuits, Vietnamese wood processing and export enterprises have started the tendency to develop the products with highly added value.

In July 2008, Component 2 Processing, Trade & Marketing of Forest Products – Vietnamese – German Forestry Program (Component 2) cooperates with Truong Thanh Wood processing Training & Development Center (TDC) to organize a training course on Timber Drying.
